Ball Diamond Safety Improvements

Safety improvements are being made for Ball Diamonds #1 and #2 in Sexsmith. Diamond #1 will be moved and reoriented to allow for a new backstop and extended outfield fence, bringing the field closer to recommended league dimensions and to change the direction of play to reduce safety hazards. Diamond #2 will receive an additional five feet of fencing on the outfield fence along the walking path to help keep balls within the playing area.

With stronger players using the diamonds, balls are increasingly leaving the fields and creating safety concerns, particularly on 99 Avenue. These improvements would help make the diamonds safer and allow more local teams and players to use them with confidence.
